A data store for any data. Massively scalable, real time SQL search and queries, zero administration
Monday, July 14, 2014
As big data proliferates, the need for a simple backend for data intensive applications – a data store – is obvious. It is also clear it will need to be 100% open source. This is Crate: an open source, super scalable and quick way to create a backend for the Internet of Things or any other big data application. Crate Data is an open source massively scalable data store. It requires zero administration and is a shared-nothing, fully searchable, document-oriented cluster data store. It is a quick and powerful massively scalable backend for data intensive apps, like the Internet of Things or real-time analytics. Crate was launched in late April 2014, immediately hitting number 1 on hacker news. It was recently awarded the judge’s choice award at the 2014 GigaOm Structure Launchpad Competition.
