Better 911 for your smartphone

Posted Friday, December 19, 2014

BlueLight is fastest way to get help in an emergency. It is an app, currently for Android only, that makes emergency communications as smart as their phone. 911 was architected for landlines and they don't reliably get location when you call from a smartphone. Campus Security on a college or corporate campus isn't notified when you call 911, and they want you to run to the nearest callbox if you need help in an emergency. BlueLight fixes all that by being the trusted safety service built for the smartphone-first consumer. It routes your call for help to the nearest emergency services based on your position (public or private) and provides them with your location. It concurrently also alerts your emergency contacts. Lastly, it provides consumers with day to day peace of mind by giving them a way to temporarily share their real-time location when they are on their way home. It will automatically let your selected contacts know that you've arrived and stop broadcasting your location. BlueLight is the safety service built for your smartphone that's better than the stock 911 dialer.
