Wetailer

Collaborative urban food production & deliveries

Friday, January 30, 2015

Wetailer helps urban cottage food makers overcome the startup hurdles to start their own business, by bringing the sharing economy to local food. It helps to bring homemade food from kitchens to kitchen shelves by stimulating collaboration between food makers and food lovers. Food makers can raise capital through pre-sales (a sort of crowdfunding), and sharing (or lend) production space, equipment or tools from food makers near them to cheaply upscale their products in accordance to local rules and regulations. When a new product has been created by the local food hood, food makers can directly sell their co-made products to consumers and restaurants in their cities (p2p), and share transports with other food makers or have it picked up and delivered to customers by their neighbors on their way to the office or university. The entire model reduces carbon emissions and increases local resilience.
